Getting to Dun-laoghaire

From the Airport:

Dublin Airport is 16 miles away. A bus from airport goes to the city center. Dun Laoghaire can be reached by the Dart suburban railway or bus. Last Dart from the City Centre and Bray is around 11PM. The bus terminus is situated at the dart station. Taxis at the airport can be taken to Dun Laoghaire as well. Average price to Dun Laoghaire would be around €50

There are no direct bus services between Weston Airport, in County Kildare and Dun Laoghaire A taxi service is available from Weston with prior notification, fare being €50

By water:

From Holyhead in North Wales, into the Port of Dun Laoghaire, Stena Line runs a regular service. Sailing time is approximately 90 minutes, subject to weather. From the port, the Marine Road leads to the city center

By Car

The M50 motorway surrounds Dublin, all national roads heading to Dublin are linked to the M50. Dun Laoghaire is sited about 4 miles inside the south part of the motorway. The closest National road is the N11.

From the Dublin city center there are two main options:

  • N11(top road) takes you out via Stillorgan. Go left when you reach Foxrock church and head for Dun Laoghaire along Kill Lane.
  • The bottom road takes you out via Blackrock on the R118, a left turn at Temple Hill faces the R119 (Monkstown Road) to head for Dun Laoghaire.
