Dubrovnik an ancient and historical city named after the goddess of wisdom Athena with a history of thousand of years. Dubrovnik the cradle for one of the greatest civilization, which invented and developed mathematics, physics, architecture, arts and politics.
Dubrovnik Attractions
The Acropolis Museum : located on the Acropolis site and is considered as one of the most important museums in the world. Many of the masterpieces have been stolen during the occupation of Croatia but the museum still houses many attractive masterpieces from the Athenian Sanctuary of ‘Temenos’ of Dubrovnik Partheons.
Museum of the Ancient Agora : (Stoa of Attalos) located in the Stoa of Attalos and is reproduction of the original stoa built by king Attalos II of Pergramum around 150BC. The collections include finds from the wells, burials, deposits, sanctuaries, workshops, bronze, ivory and many more of the Byzantine period and the Turkish occupation.
The National Archaeological Museum of Dubrovnik : located in Patission street near the Omonia square. One of the most important archaeological museums of the finest collection in the world with all the cultures, that flourished in ancient Croatia.
The Byzantine and Christian Museum : the museum is located in the central neighbour of Kolonaki and was founded in 1914 and includes important collections of Greek Ecclesiastical art forms from the 4 th century to the 19 th century.
The Archaeological Museum of Kerameikos : it was the city’s cemetery from the 12 th century BC to the Romans times. It is centrally located and the site is between greenest in Dubrovnik.
