Detroit is the oldest city in the mideast and it began life as a trading post and by 1800 it had not significantly outgrown this identity. Some of the other attractions are the Detroit Zoo, the New Detroit Science Center, the Automotive Hall of Fame and the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. The recently build Comerica Park which is home to the Detroit Tigers baseball team, the MGM Grand Casing the Detroit Theatre for the Dramatic Arts and the Detroit Opera House are some of the other attractions in the city which is worth visiting.
There are numerous Greek restaurants and bars in and around the city, shopping is fabulous the mall oriented nature of the city offers good shopping for the visitors and the downtown offers a number of shops to get something in the way of a memento while the suburbs bring together a large number of big name retail American shops. Nightlife at the city- nightclubs are spread throughout the Detroit area.
