Limerick city is fast gaining prominence as an important tourist destination in Ireland. It is the third largest city in the country and provides all the modern amenities to the traveler. Some of the notable items in the museum are a 9th century bronze and enamel cross named the Antrim Cross, a bronze horse from a Da Vinci design. There was some controversy over the collections and its connection to the Nazis.

The Lough Gur Halloween storytelling festival in Limerick is a revival of this Irish culture. Established in 1995 it coincides with Irish holiday of Samhain. Limerick Spring Fest and Band competition is another of Limerick’s memorable occasion. It is a weeklong fest with parades, concerts, theater and games for all ages and tastes. The Limerick Riverfest held in May every year showcase the city’s culture and heritage.

The city offers other entertainments also. The pubs and night clubs in the city are great places to unwind and taste the Irish beverages and cuisine.
