St. Mary’s Cathedral built in 1168 is the oldest surviving historical edifice in Limerick and has a complete set of Misericords, the only church with one in whole of Ireland. The Hunt museum has over 2000 exhibits. The most important are the 9th century Atrim Cross, a Picasso sketch and a bronze horse of Da Vinci design. The treaty stone which witnessed the end of siege by William of Orange and the Limerick treaty is now on display on a pedestal in the city.
