Red Tape and Visas

By valid national identity card you can enter in Croatia. British citizen don’t have passport EU citizens can stay for as long as they want, but if they're planning on staying permanently they should register with the local police. Citizens of the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia require a passport, but no visa, and can stay up to three months.Visa requirements do change, however, and it is always advisable to check the current situation before leaving home.
