Cordoba

Arrival

The air is not the best option for arriving in Cordoba. Cordoba’s airport is situated six kilometer away from the city, operates charter flights during the season of summer. Most visitors arriving by air from other parts of Spain or the continent fly to Seville, Málaga (capital of the Costa del Sol), or Granada, then travel by rail or car to reach Córdoba. An attractive and quick way to go to Cordoba is the AVE high speed train, which connects the city with Madrid in about an hour and 45 minutes and with Seville in 40 minutes. These trains make about twenty trips on each direction daily. Many visitors opt to drive to Cordoba from Seville. You can take the N-IV (E-5) south from Madrid, veering right (west) at the town of Bailén. Córdoba is well signposted, and the toll-free trip takes (roughly) about 3 hours. The same national highway continues west directly into Seville. Córdoba is 105km (65 miles) west of Jaén and 419km (260 miles) southwest of Madrid. It is also 166km (103 miles) northwest of Granada, and 129km (80 miles) east of Seville.
Several coach lines operate from Cordoba Bus Station, with daily coaches to all the major cities, such as Madrid, Seville, Malaga and Granada, and to all the towns in the province.
