Colorado Spring is the second largest city in the state of Colorado in the Rocky Mountains area. It is a conservative city with the charm of a typical small western town built on the theory and practice of tourism. Colorado Springs quickly grew into a high class resort community, it is more than bad architecture and rough looking neighbourhoods and the city had made Garden of the Gods into a 1,300 acre park.

Colorado Springs is filled with attractions with spectacular scenery, including the Garden of the Gods-the area’s premier tourist attraction consisting of unique red sandstone formations and hiking trails. Other attractions include the Air Force Academy which is one of the most visited attractions in Colorado Springs, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo the country’s only mountain zoo housing over 500 animals with a background of breathtaking mountains scenery, the cave of winds which is a series of caves and fascinating underground caverns and the Pikes Peak Cog Railway the world’s highest cog railway traveling to the summit of the Pikes Peak.

Some of the superb museums and art galleries in the city provides information about the history of the city together with detailed exhibitions. Some of these museums and art galleriers are the money museum containing an important collection of rare coins and paper money from around the world, the Hall of Fame and American Cowboy Museum containing full of memorabilia with historic information about the development of rodeo, the Western Museum of Mining and Industry documenting the area’s ruch gold mining past, and the Natural History Museum of the Tropics being the home to one of the world’s largest collection of tropical insects and invertebrates. Some of the other attractions are the 19 th century Glen Eyrie Castle home of General William Jackson Palmer founder of the city, the McAllister house one of the city’s oldest houses now on the natioanl register of Historic Places and the memorial park boasting of a range of sporting facilities including an ice center and tennis courts.
