Cologne/Bonn Airport is also know as Konrad Adenauer Airport and is an international airport located approximately 14 kilometers southeast of Cologne's city center and 16 kilometer northeast of Bonn. It is the sixth largest airports in Germany and one of the few twenty four hour airports in Germany. The airport handles over ten million passengers a year and is one of the busiest airports in the country. There are two terminals at the airport and both handle arrivals and departures. There are banks, ATMs, restaurants, fast food outlets, snack bars and cafes located in both the terminals. Duty free shops are located in both the terminals and there are conference rooms as well. The airport can be easily accessed by disabled passengers and there are special toilets, phone booths and lifts for disabled people in wheelchairs. There are wheelchairs also available at the airport. There is a supermarket and delicatessen in terminal 2 arrivals. There are information and help desks conveniently located in both the terminals. There are multi-storey car parking facilities at both the terminals.  

The Konrad Adenauer Airport is also one of the international emergency landing strips for NASA's space shuttle.

Commuting to and from the airport is quite easy. There are taxis available at the taxi stands outside terminal 1 and 2. Airport shuttle services are available from both the terminals to Cologne and Bonn. There is a railway station located at the airport that runs to Cologne's main railway station and other destinations.
