The airport is located 7.5 miles from downtown Christchurch, the second, south island of New Zealand.
Terminal Information
The airport has two terminals domestic and international terminals, which are inter-connected. The domestic transfer check-in counters are located in the international arrivals hall. The international and domestic terminals are under construction and are slated for completion by 2008.

Traveling to and from Airport
By Bus : the bus stands are located outside the domestic and international areas of the terminal building. Public bus operates from the airport to destinations in Christchurch with ever 30 minutes frequency. Shuttle buses with sharing option operate to hotels in the city.

Currency Exchanger & ATMs : both the financial facilities are located in the terminals. A bank is also available.
Food & Drinks : cafes, bars and restaurants serving meals and refreshments are located before and after security control of both the terminals. The Gallery café and Cityside café are one of the best cafes located in the airport.
Shopping : the duty free shop at the international atrium and other shops are located in the departure hall of international terminals on the first floor. Another small area is located in the domestic terminal.
Left / Lost Luggage : the left luggage office is located near the information center in the domestic terminal and another on the ground floor of the international terminal (Ph: (0)3 353 1985).
Other Facilities : postal service is located near the information center of both the terminals.
Public telephones are located throughout the terminals.
Pharmacy is located in the domestic terminals.
Children play area is located on the first floor of domestic terminal.
Christchurch Airport Facilities for Disabled
The airport includes lifts, ramps, automatic doors and specially designed toilets, showers and ATMs. The airport is easily accessable by wheelchair and passengers require wheelchair should inform the airlines. Designated parking space is available in front of the public car parking.
