Chicago Disabled Visitors
With the dramatic improvement in the technology communication is one of the sectors that have been benefited most. The development in the communication has given a boost to the tourism industry all over the world. So, people of almost every walk find traveling the most attractive form of recreation. But the facilities for disabled visitors are hardly the same as that of the general visitors. The disabled visitors in stead of enjoying their visit find it full of hazards and sometimes very expensive. Humanitarian groups are now trying to ensure a hassle free and safe journey of the disabled visitors all over the world.
The facilities are not enough in the city of Chicago to fulfill the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). In most public transports the facilities are far away from the requirements of the DDA. The facilities for transferring from on and off the wheel chair are not safe for the wheel chair users. In some places the specialized tracks are not installed as perfectly as should be done by the experts. These installations are may cause injuries instead of benefiting the disabled visitors. In most of the places the lavatory arrangements are not installed considering the convenience of the disabled people. The wash basins, the soap dispensers and the paper towel are not accessible by the disabled.
