Cadiz city situated in the southwest of Andalucia stands on a peninsula jutting out into a bay and is almost entirely surrounded by water. It is the oldest city in western Europe with records suggesting that the city was occupied more than 3000 years ago. The city was an important trading post for the Carthaginians and was occupied by the Romans before the Visigoths defeated them. The museums in the city is rich in history and the place is popularly known as the little cup of silver.
