About Bordeaux

Bordeaux lies on the banks of the River Garonne in south west France. It is a major city, home to more than a million people, and is one of the most important ports in the whole of Europe, serving many transatlantic routes out of Europe. The Atlantic Coast of France that lies about 30 miles west of Bordeaux offers excellent beaches. The coast is not particularly developed compared to other parts of the country, however this means that the miles of golden sand are generally fairly quiet. For a traditional beach resort experience, drive to Hotel Atlantique which is about 150 miles from Bordeaux, and an excellent place to spend a few days.
