
Nightlife of Bologna
Large population of student in Bologna is responsible for its vibrant and diverse nightlife, with lots of cafes packed with young crowd. The usual haunts for night near university, includes via Del Pratello, Via Zamboni and via delle Belle Arte. You can usually find a place for a drink, a shot of espresso, or a light meal as late as 2am. Cassero, Via Don Minzoni 18, is Bologna's most popular gay bar, with a noisy, disco like atmosphere and floor shows. Cassero is also the Bologna headquarters of Arcigay and Arcilesbiche, a gay and lesbian center organizing cultural meetings and entertainment. Osteria de Poeti, Via Poeti 1B, is Bologna's oldest osteria and has been in operation since the 16th century. The brick-vaulted ceilings, stone walls, and ancient wine barrels provide just the sort of ambience you would expect to find in such a historic establishment. During July-August, The parks along the town’s northern tier is transformed into an Italian versionof a German biergarten(beer garden), complete with disco music under colored lights. Vendors sell beer and wine from indoor/outdoor bars set up on the lawns, and others hawk food and souvenirs. The other venue for major cultural presentations are the Teatro Comunale, includes the opera, ballet, and orchestral presentation.
