Located in the middle of the La Marina Baixa region, Benidorm is one of the main tourist destinations in Costa Blanca with the mountains Sierra Helada in the east, Aitana in the north and Tossal de la Cala in the west protecting from winds that would alter its pleasant climate. It celebrates the Festa de la Carxofa a very traditional affair which takes place in the historic quarter, other festivals are the Bonfires of San Juan, the Muslim and Christians festivities in the month of june and the festival which begins on the second Sunday of November offering a varied programme including floats, theatre performances and fire works.

Food and drinks are in plenty, seafood and rice dishes are the base of the local gastronomy. Paella is one of the emblematic dishes, as is seafoods. Deserts include almond cake, turrones, and ice creams. The wines with Designation of Origin includes Alicante, Misteleta and Horchata all are typical of the origin.
