Weather in Belgium
Belgium experiences a maritime moderate climate which is mainly influenced by the air bodies from the Atlantic . Conspicuous variability in weather pattern is noted here due to fast and unexpected alteration of air masses- which is also separated by fronts.
As the frontal conditions moves towards east it causes heavy and incessant rainfall. Such rainfall averages 30 to 40 inches per year. Winters in Belgium are damp, cool and are accompanied by frequent fogs. However, the summers in the country are milder. The average annual temperature is approximately 50 °F (10 °C). Brussels , situated in the mid-part of the country, experiences a minimum temperature as low as 32 °F (0 °C) during January and a highest temperature of 71 °F (22 °C) during July.
As the distance to the marine increases in the inlands of the country the maritime influence on the weather decreases. The weather becomes rather climatic showing extreme temperature in each season. Patterns of changes have also been recorded with the change of elevation. The Ardennes region is the highest as well as the farthest inland which makes it the coldest region. During winter, frost appears in this part for about 120 days, whereas snow falls are seen from 30 to 35 days.
