Location
The airport is located 18 miles northeast of Beijing city and is the main gateway to China.
It lies on the boundary of Chaoyang and Shunyi district of China
Terminal Information
The airport has two terminals 1 and 2, which handles international and domestic flights. The terminals are connected by shuttle bus services to transfer passengers in between terminals.
Beijing Capital Airport Information Desk
The airport information desk is situated in the center of ante halls on the first floor and second floor of terminal 1, for further information (Ph: +86 10 6456 4247). The tourist information desks are located in the arrivals lounge of both the terminals (Ph: (0)10 6456 4277 or 3220). The airport flight information is available on (Ph: +86 10 6456 4247).
Traveling to and from Beijing Airport
By Bus : the bus stand in the airport is located outside arrivals of terminal 2 and transfers passengers to hotels in Beijing. There are number of shuttle buses operate ‘the airport to downtown Xidan’ (Central Beijing), capital airport to (Western Beijing) Gongzhufen, capital airport to (Northern District) Zhongguancun, capital airport to Beijing station and capital airport to Fangzhuang. The world famous and the must visit tourist attraction of ancient Chinese cultural site ‘the Forbidden City’ is close to the Xidan route.
Beijing Airport Facilities
Currency Exchanger & ATMs : both the financial facilities are available at convenient places from automated teller machines located in the terminals. There are number of banks located at the airport terminal 1, opposite to gate no.8 of domestic departure hall on the second floor and another bank opposite to gate no.7 of arrivals hall of the first floor.
Food & Drinks : cafes, bars, restaurants and many fast food outlets serving meals, refreshments and Chinese fast food are located in both the terminals. In terminal 1 at modernized food corridor includes Chinese, western, Japanese, Korean and local refreshment of varied area of China.
Shopping : the shopping market at the Airport includes Chinese traditional selection as well as American and European branded commodities. There are branded cosmetic shops, spirit, famous leatherwear and watches, the famous Chinese tea and exquisite craftwork. The main concentrations of shops are located in terminal 1 and some in terminal 2.
Left / Lost Luggage : the left luggage office is near the gate 9 of the arrivals hall on the first floor and gate 10 & 8 of departure hall on second floor (Ph: 010 645 981 51). The lost luggage office or passengers room 12026 is located near door no.15 on the first floor of airport building.
Other Facilities : entertainment center on the third floor of station building.
Time meter hotel is located on the first underground floor for leisure and comfortable bedrooms.
Post office is located opposite to gate no.6 of international departure hall (Ph: (010) 645 920 56.
Two types of public telephones are available in the terminals the common IC phones and another web phone.
The medical center at the airport is situated opposite to gate no.12 of domestic departure hall on the second floor (Ph: (010) 645 919 19).
Beijing Airport Facilities for Disabled
The airport has lifts, ramps for wheelchair access in the terminals and specially designed toilets, telephones and drinking water facilities are located in the terminals. Wheelchair is provided on request and assistance is available to access between terminals. For any special assistance the airlines should be informed in advance. Car parks are available at designated car parking at the airport.
