Australia is the smallest continent in the world located southeast of Asia and is bound by the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Coral Sea to the northwest, the Timor Sea to the northwest, the Indian Ocean to the west and the Tasman Sea to the southeast.

Australian Museum – the museum has the largest natural history collection in the country and exhibits range from valuable minerals and strange fossils to stuffed birds and mammals. There are also interesting displays on the life of the Aboriginals and the natives of Papua New Guinea.
Anzac War Memorial – is situated in the southern half of the park was erected in 1934 to commemorate the dead of the First World War. In geometric Art Deco style, the memorial stands on a podium with an area of 1200 sq m.
St. James’ Church – the oldest church in Sydney was built in 1822 with doubled brick arches, subdivided windows and contrasting stone porticos is a fine example of colonial Georgian. The tower was formerly a landmark for ships in the spacious harbour basin were Governor Macquarie had originally wanted to build a courthouse on the site.
St. Mary’s Cathedral – is a neo-Gothic building modeled on Lincoln Cathedral with a façade in the style of Notre-Dame in Paris. The south towers are unfinished and the site was first given to the first Roman Catholic clergy in Sydney by Governor Macquarie in 1821.
History House – adjoining the BMA House is the History House, which is a three story building in Victorian classical style and it is the headquarters of the Royal Australian Historical Society.
Sydney Mint – located on the south end of the old Rum Hospital and has preserved much of its original aspect after the discovery of gold in 1851 the building was converted into the Mint. Since 1982 it has housed a collection of jewellery, coins as well as many gold coins.
Australian National Maritime Museum – a palm-fringed promenade runs round Darling Harbour from the aquarium to the Australian National Maritime Museum covers the eventful history of Australian seafaring. The displays include ships and articles on those whose livelihood depends on the sea, also on explorers, convicts and immigrants.
