The city of Auch is situated in the region of Midi-Pyrenees and is the capital of the department of the Gers. Auch went through a phase of urban regeneration in the 18 th century as the capital of Gascony and it is now a sleepy administrative and commercial center.
The city of Auch is famous for its new town, historical center and the old town. Some of the famous attractions are the Cathedral St Marie a magnificient example of late gothic architecture and the interior of the building, the Place Salilnis the 40m high building that served as a court and a prison in the 14 th century and the city’s famous museum Musee D’Auch displays the best collection of pre colombian and later South American art.
