Assisi is a small town in central Italy located in the province of Perugia. The town is well-known as the birth place of one of the most famous catholic saints, St.Francis, who was the initiator of the Franciscan movement that focuses on spreading the message of hope and forbearance. Assisi has a rich tradition and is home to great artists such as Pietro Lorenzetti and the town boasts of its culture like the Festival calendimaggio held in the first week of May and other religious events held throughout the year.
