Aspen is on the Roaring Fork River in the Rocky Mountains and it is a city where physical activity, art, music and the humanities would together enrich the spirit and elevate the society. This city received national attention for 1976 shooting death of champion skier Spider Sabich by Claudine Longer ex-wife of singer Andy Willams.

Some of the Historic sites and Museums are the Aspen Art Museum and the Wheeler-Stallard House Museum. The Art Museum was founded in 1979 and is known internatioanlly for presenting world class exhibitions of contemporary art from around the globe. This museum is housed in an historic brick building on the scenic Rio Grande Trail. This city is also famous for the local festival- Aspen Music Festival which is held from June 22 to August 21 every year.
