The Airport is situated off the A4 motorway 9 miles southwest of Amsterdam linking Hague and Rotterdam.
Travelling to the Amsterdam City
- Rail Route: Railway station at the terminal’s central hall under the Schiphol Plaza operates trains directly to Amsterdam Central Station. It also operates night train services to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, The Hague, Delft and Rotterdam.
The high speed Thalys train service with reservation operates to major European cities with other international services to Berlin, Hannover and Leipzig.
- Bus Route: From Arrival Hall 2buses depart from platform A7.Public Transport Bus nos.197 and 370 run regularly to Amsterdam city center and Zuid.
- Shuttle Coaches: The Connexxion Schiphol Hotel Service provides free transport for the guests, for more information contact tel: (0)38 339 4771). The Connexxion desk is located at the Airports Terminal in the Arrivals Hall 2 with tickets and information also available.It also runs service from airport to over 55 hotels in and around Amsterdam.
Information Desk
The information desk is located in Schiphol Plaza halls 2 & 3 in arrivals, before and behind the passport control in lounges 2 & 3.
Information on transfers and connecting flights is situated on the piers with eight transfer desks and information about the airport can be known with the touch screen system available all over the terminal.
The tourist information cell is in Arrivals 2 for accomodation and reservation service.

- Refreshments: There are many food outlets, bars and cafes located all over the terminal.
- Shopping in the Terminal: Dutyfree 24 hour supermarket at the Schiphol Plaza and online duty free pre-order and collection service available at before and after security control at the terminal.

Facilities for the disabled
Airport provides facilities like automatic doors, lifts, ramps, toilets and wheelchairs available with prior information to the airlines.
Electrocar service available for transportation from the arrival halls operated by A Company, (tel: (0)20 601 5018).
Parking facility available at P1, P2,& P3 also bus facility available on request to take disabled person to the terminal with prior notice atleast 24 hours in advance.
