
Getting to Almeria
Almeria Airport (LEI) services the Andalusia region of southern Spain. The airport is in the city of the same name and offers flights to over a million visitors each year. Almeria Airport has flights from Air Berlin, BMIbaby, EasyJet, Iberia, Jetairfly, Luxair, Monarch, Ryanair, Thomas Cook Airlines, and Transavia. Almeria International Airport is located just 500 metres from the waters of Almeria bay, 10 kilometres east of the centre of Almeria city. When flying into the airport, there are a number of transport options to take travellers to their desired destinations, including their lodging. Almeria Airport does have a well organized taxi rank. There is also a train station for travel to Almeria, located just in the centre of town at the Plaza de la Estacion. Busses can also be found at the Plaza de la Estacion. The local busses take travellers to other cities such as Granada, Malaga, and Jaen. Travellers can even take a ferry to Almeria. Boats run between the city and the cities of Oran, Ghazaouet, Nador, and Melilla. Car hire Almeria Airport is one great way to get around the city and outlying attractions. There are on site agents from AVIS, Centauro, Europcar, Goldcar, Hertz, and National/Atesa. The coastal motorways of N-344 and N-340 are both accessible to the airport. Renting a car is also an economical way to travel to Almeria for local vacationers. To get to Almeria by car, travellers need to take the A-7 highway, which can be accessed off the A-92 that stretches along the Andalusian countryside.
