The Portuguese region of Algarve is located at the southern part of Portugal. This is the most popular place for tourists to visit in all of Portugal. Fishing, swimming, and boating are also great incentives for a holiday in Algarve. The different cities in the Algarve region all have their own personality and distinct amenities. Some of the larger cities in Algarve are Faro, Albufeira, Lagos, and Silves. Travel throughout the region of Algarve can be done by renting a car.
