STANSTED AIRPORT INFORMATION (STN)

Location of the Airport: The airport is situated 30 miles northeast of London near the town of Harlow, it is easily accessible from London situated next to junction 8 of the M11 motorway away from junction 27 of the M25 motorway. The airport is UK’s fourth busiest airport and it is the fastest growing in Europe. It serves 20 different airlines to approximately 114 locations world wide.

Traveling to and from the Airport:

  • Rail: The airport railway station is located just below the terminal building, Stansted express and the Thameslink runs to the Liverpool Street Station. A local train service runs to all the principal stations.
  • Bus: Buses are available from the airport to the city center, The Airbus operates an hourly service to Victoria Coach Station.
  • Taxi: Taxis are available from the airport running frequently to the city center. There is a reservation desk on the international arrivals area for booking it in advance,tel: 0800 747 737, there is also a courtesy phone available in the UK baggage reclaim hall.
Information Desk: The airport information desk is available on the international arrivals providing information on flights , public transport and tourist information as well.

Airport Facility:

  • Money and Communication: ATMs and bureau de change is available all throughout the airport, there are several cash points distributed through the airport accepting all major cards. Telephones and internet access is located all throughout the airport terminal, Wireless internet access is also available in the departure lounge.
  • Refreshments: There are several places to eat, before the security bars are O’Neills Irish pub, Costa, Volare, Café are available and after the security there are Café Uno Presto, Wetherspoon, starbucks coffee, wheelers seafood bar and pret a mange.
  • Shopping: Wide range of shopping opportunities are available at the terminal building. The bodyshop, impluse, cotton traders, cosmetics, photographic, and electric goods are available at the terminal building. World duty free shop offers great savings on wine and spirits. There are other shops also which offer a wide variety of goods.
  • Left and lost luggage facility: The left luggage facility is maintained by OCS and is located next to the monsoon outlet at the terminal building. Lost property is also handled by OCS, if the lost property is claimed within 24 hours the OCS desk next to the monsoon handles the same and if it is claimed after 24 hours, the OCS office in the short stay car park next to the airport terminal handles it, tel: (0) 127 966 3293. Storage charge is levied for the lost property which is held for a maximum of three month.
  • Other facility: Other facility includes baby change room, children play area, 24 hour first aid service and business and conference facilities.
Disabled Facility: The airport meets the stipulated requirements for use by the people with special needs. The disabled passengers are provided with train access via a portable ramp and the train station which is just below the terminal building. All the telephones throughout the airport is fitted with induction couplers. Unisex accessible toilets are located in the main concourse and in the departures lounge, reserved seating areas for the people with special needs are identified by pictograms and are located throughout the airport. Designated parking facility is also available for the disabled passengers with short and long term parking facility.
