 GATWICK AIRPORT INFORMATION

Location of the Airport: The airport is located 28 miles south of London and it is the 6 th busiest international airport and UK’s second largest airport. The airport is directly linked to the M23 motorway at junction 9 and to the A23 London Brighton road.

Traveling to and from the Airport:
  • Bus: Bus stops are located at the North Terminal outside International arrivals and both the terminals operates buses services which runs to Horley, Redhill and to other destinations in the and around the city. Coaches are also available from the airport and they travel to more than 400 cities and towns and the main coach station in at the south Terminal on the ground floor.

Terminal Information: There are two terminals and a free transit train links both the terminal 24 hours a day.

Information Desk: The airport information desk is located in the arrivals of the terminal building and they provide flight information as well as other information as required by the passengers.

Airport Facilities:

  • Currency and Communication: Both the terminals are provided with bureau de change and ATMs and a post office is located in the North Terminal just before the security. Pay fax machines and pay phones are available in the main areas of the terminal building. Both the terminal has wireless internet exchange and internet access available in the departures lounge.
  • Refreshments: Both the terminals have fabulous food. Café, Bridge bar and costa is in the north terminal and some of the best food outlets are also available in the north terminal just after the security. Pizza Express, Starbucks and other food counters are available in the south terminal.
  • Shopping: Shopping ranges from a huge range of goods including tax free and duty free shops in both the terminals, some of the best shops are the Nine West, Virgin Music, La Senza, and the Body Shop.
  • Left and Lost Luggage Facility: Left luggage facility is available in both the terminals and lost luggage office is located in the south terminal. Trolleys are in the carpark area.
  • Other Facility: Other facility incudes showers, towels and soaps which can be hired via the courtesy phone and 24 hour medical assistance is provided in both the terminal in the arrivals and the departures lounge. Reserved seating is also available and these areas are clearly identified by large special needs pictograms. There are also Multi-faith chapels opened in the arrivals concourse of the North Terminal and in the Village South Terminal.
Disabled Facility: The airport is reasonably friendly to the disabled passengers and both the terminals offer ramps, wider access pathways, disabled toilet facilities, reserved seating and wheel chair accessibility. Any assistance requiring by the disabled, the passengers should give prior notice to their respective airlines while booking their tickets. Telephones at a height accessible to wheel chair users is also provided for the disabled.
